Brian Ellwood Moments specialises in landscape and wildlife photography that captures the pause, the moment, in the world around us. I'm a Melbourne-based photographer with a passion for large-print panoramas of peaceful and beautiful landscapes. In my work I seek to capture the beauty in the world around us and the connection we all share through it. 

 

Having grown up on rural properties in New South Wales, I am most at home when I’m out of the city and in the bush or on a coastline. I have always loved photography, and now that I've stepped away from a busy career in commercial event management and technical production, I am more free than ever to pursue it.

 

The way light can transform any location into something truly stunning—often just for a moment—is magical. And for me, there is such enormous peace to be found when standing alone in a naturally beautiful place. It’s that sense of space, of endless time, of serenity, of taking a deep, calming breath and simply being, that I try to replicate in my landscapes. 

 

With wildlife shots, I pursue the incredible experience of the connection I so often feel, from the power and timeless wisdom in the eyes of an elephant to the captivating stare of a praying mantis or a cicada. The riotous colour and equally boisterous antics of our birds are endlessly fascinating, if only we stop to watch. 

 

​I invite you to stop and take a moment, to see and be in the natural world. I hope that my photographs touch you in some way, connect you to the amazing world that we live in, and inspire you to get out there and be in it, enjoy it and care for it. For me every image connects me to place, time and feeling. Being surrounded by beautiful photographic artworks provides a calm in an increasingly busy, disconnected world and helps to create and enhance beautiful spaces.
